Recently, our Founder, Rickiesha Williams, joined Yannick Buditu on the 2 Cool 4 School Podcast for a thoughtful conversation about community, connection and children's mental health.
One of the topics we explored was something we often talk about at The CYP Services: children and young people don't grow up in isolation.

Their wellbeing is shaped by the people around them, whether that's parents and carers, teachers, family members, friends or other trusted adults. Feeling listened to, understood and supported can make a real difference to a child's emotional wellbeing.
We also spoke about what accessibility really means. For us, it's about more than making therapy affordable. It's about creating welcoming spaces, using language that's easy to understand and recognising that every child, young person and family has their own experiences and needs.
At The CYP Services, we believe therapy works best when it doesn't happen in isolation either. While sessions are an important part of the journey, we also recognise the value of working alongside parents, carers and, where appropriate, other professionals to help create a supportive network around each child or young person.
The conversation was a reminder that community doesn't have to mean having lots of people around you. Sometimes it's one trusted adult, one teacher who notices or one person who takes the time to listen.
Thank you to Yannick for creating space for such an important discussion.
