At The CYP Services, we believe mental health doesnāt exist in isolation. When a child or young person struggles, their wider support system also feels the impact. Thatās why we work with ages 5ā25 as well as parents, carers, and professionals. We know that supporting the whole system creates better outcomes for everyone.
Itās not just about the individual. Itās about the relationships and connections within their family, community, and environment that shape how they feel and cope with life.

We believe no one stands alone. Many overlapping systems shape our lives, from close relationships to wider cultural and societal influences. This way of thinking reflects Bronfenbrenner's (1979) theory, which suggests that weāre influenced by layers of relationships, from our closest family and friends to schools, workplaces, neighbourhoods, and even wider societal or cultural beliefs.
We also recognise that in some cultures, mental health is not viewed as an individual concern but as a shared responsibility. Healing and growth are supported by "the tribe" ā whether thatās extended family, community elders, or trusted groups.
How do we do things differently at The CYP Services?
We understand that difficult or painful experiences can have a big impact on how we feel, how we connect with others, and even how we see ourselves. Our priority is never to ask 'What's wrong with you?' but to gently explore 'What happened to you?' This allows us to build a safe, non-judgmental space where everyone can feel truly seen and heard.
We start with a connection.
Children and young people are welcomed alongside the adults who support them.
We create safe, non-blaming spaces.
Everyone involved is seen and heard, not judged.
We begin with a thoughtful assessment.
Itās a chance to reflect and share insights before moving forward.
We offer regular reviews, not endless sessions.
Our goal is to build confidence, not dependence, with clear plans that support lasting change.
Whether through one-on-one therapy, partnerships, workshops, or community events, our mission is simple: To create accessible, high-quality mental health support because accessing mental health support should be a right, not a privilege.
